The National Association of Field Studies Officers (NAFSO) is the only organisation in the UK which represents professionals employed in teaching, developing and promoting ‘field studies’.

This encompasses all those enjoyable, practical, first-hand learning experiences for school pupils and other learners of all ages outside their usual classroom; in the school grounds, in the school locality, or in a contrasting locality such as a field study centre. It aims to disseminate good practice amongst its members and actively contributes to a range of National initiatives including DCSF ‘Growing Schools’ and ‘Learning Outside the Classroom’. New members are always welcome.
