International Day for Biological Diversity 22 May is here
Posted: 19 May 2010
This Saturday, 22nd May, will be the day the environmental community has been building up to – celebrating biodiversity and highlighting that it is essential for sustaining the natural living systems or ecosystems that provide us with food, fuel, health, wealth, and other vital services.
There is a veritable blizzard of activity taking place on the 22nd with a wide range of events taking place all over the country including the launch of the competition for the Young Darwin Prize for best biodiversity video reports, held at the Natural History Museum.
The competition encourages schools to involve kids in filming their biodiversity activities - the closing date for the competition is 31 August 2010.
